Rob and Gill bought the St Johns Inn at the end of June 2017 and had a grand opening on the 26th August with one of the elder residents ‘Ernie’ performing the honour of cutting the ribbon.
The pub has been well supported by the local community and is going from strength to strength.
They serve 2 Real Ales which change every week and can be anything from a 3.5% ‘quaffing’ bitter to a luxurious 5.6% chocolate Porter.
Bass on draught as a permanent feature and also Theakstons’ Mild
There are 2 premium largers from Czech and also 3 ciders on tap.
All the ales, largers and ciders are £3 pint.
Numerous spirits and soft drinks are also available along with crisps, nuts, pork scratchings, pickled eggs and cockles & mussels.
There is now a lovely piano in the pub and anyone is welcome to come in and play.

Closed – Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday.
- Fish and chips is now every Friday night and will be served in the marquee, 5-9pm. Food can be eaten outside / in the marquee / in the pub / or taken away. A sample menu is given below but please feel free to call if you have any special requests.
Accommodation – non available
Camping – The pub is now licensed for camping for up to 10 tents. A basic site in the paddock beyond the pub garden with the use of the outside toilets and a fresh water supply. Hopefully to have a shower by next year. Electric hook-up points available throughout most of the site.

10th November 2018 – the blessing of the new village Standard will take place in the Centenary Lounge, time TBC.
11th November 2018 – Remembrance Sunday – There will be the presentation of a new ‘Standard’ for the village at the church service. The Standard will be carried by Rob Berry and used at the memorial service following the church service. There will be a buffet served at the pub following the services. Everyone is welcome to attend.
8th December 2018 – music in the lounge from a Blues guitarist Thomas Ford.
